Space Management
IT Works provides a state of the art space planning software solution for space management in college, university, and research hospitals. Our space planning software programs were originally developed for the Planning Office of a major medical university with a significant amount of input from the administrator and planning consultant. The IT Works space management solutions have since been integrated with Human Resource, Grant, and Equipment Inventory Management software to provide an even more comprehensive space planning solution. Space management software not only tracks space size, ownership, and usage, but also allows users to analyze it with respect to their clinical, research, and personnel needs.
We offer two space planning software products, Department Manager (small to mid-size) and College Administrator (enterprise) to meet the space management needs of organizations depending upon their size.
Both Department Manager and College Administrator use multiple space planning software modules to provide this comprehensive space management solution. Space and Equipment Inventory modules track space location, ownership, size, and usage. Space usage can be defined from the point of view of a design manager (such as by office, lab, or classroom space) or by function (such as teaching, research, or administration).
The integration of our Grant and Personnel / HR Management modules allow administrators to analyze space planning and space management allocations with respect to staffing requirements and faculty research funding. Ratios comparing research funding to research space are easily calculated and provide justification for space allocation.
